1. 전화 대화 시작

 

  1) 신원 확인

    ⓐ May I ask who's calling please? (실례지만 누구세요?)
    ⓑ This is Hong Kil-Dong calling from Seoul, Korea.
        (한국의 서울에서 전화하고 있는 홍길동입니다.)
    ⓒ(This is he(she) ) speaking. (접니다)
    ⓓ Who shall I say is calling? (누구시라고 할까요?)
    ⓔ Who's calling, please? = Who's this, please? ( 누구십니까?)
    ⓕ May I have your name, please? (성함이 어떻게 됩니까?)
    ⓖ Who am I speaking to? (통화하시는 분은 누구세요?)

 

  2) 대화 요청

    ⓐ Is .... in (there/available)? (...있습니까?/ ...와 통화가 가능합니까?)
    ⓑ May (Can/Could) I speak(talk) to ....., please?
    ⓒ I'd like to speak to ...., please?

 

  3) 전화 연결

    ⓐ Hang on. I'll get him (for you). (잠깐 기다리세요. 불러 주겠습니다.)
    ⓑ Don't hang up. I'll put him on. (끊지 마세요. 바꿔 주겠습니다.)
    ⓒ Let me transfer your call to him.(연결해 드리겠습니다.)
    ⓓ Just a minute. I'll connect you. (잠깐만요. 연결해 드리겠습니다.)
    ⓔ You're through(connected). (연결되었습니다.)
    ⓕ Could you hold on, please?( 좀기다리시겠습니까?)
    ⓖ Please hold a moment. I'll see if he's in.

      (잠시 기다리세요. 계신지 알아보겠습니다.)

 

 

2. 상대방 부재시

 

  1) 찾는 사람이 없을 때

    ⓐ When (How soon) do you expect him back(in) ?

    (언제쯤 돌아 올 예정입니까?)
    ⓑ How soon will he be (get) back? (언제 돌아 옵니까?)
    ⓒ (Do you have) Any idea when he will be (get) back?

    (혹시 언제 돌아올지 아십니까?)
    ⓓ I'm sorry but ... is not at the moment. (지금 안계신데요.)
    ⓔ I'm afraid ... can't come to the phone at this time.

     (지금은 전화를 받으실 수 없습니다.)
    ⓕ Could you call back later ( in a few minutes)?

   (잠시 후 다시 전화주시겠습니까?)

 

  2) 메모를 남길 때

    ⓐ He is not in(here) at the moment. May I take a message?
       (현재 안 계십니다. 전언을 남기시겠습니까?)
    ⓑ I'm afraid he just stepped(walked) out.

        Would you like to leave a message?
       (방금 나가셨습니다. 말씀 전해 드릴까요?)
    ⓒ May I take your number and have him return your call?
       (전화 번호를 가르쳐 주시면 전화를 하라고 전해 드리겠습니다.)
    ⓓ I'll see that he gets the message. ( 꼭 전해 드리겠습니다.)
    ⓔ I'll tell her you called. (전화왔다고 전하겠습니다.)
    ⓕ Shall I have her return your call? (전화하라고 할까요?)

 

  3) 연락처 질문

   ⓐ How can I reach(get in touch with/ get hold of/contact) him?
      (그와 어떻게 통화할 수 있습니까?)
   ⓑ Is there any way I can reach him? (혹시 제가 연락할 수 없을까요?)
   ⓒ Do you know where I can reach him?
      (제가 어디로 연락을 하면 되는 지 알고 계십니까?)

 

 3. 전화 대화 마침

  1) 작별 인사

   ⓐ Thanks for calling. I'd better go.

  (전화해 줘서 고마워. 이제 끊어야겠어.)
   ⓑ  I'll call you back later. (조금 후에 다시 전화할게.)
   ⓒ Excuse me, I have a call on the other line. I have to hang up now.
      (실례지만, 다른 전화가 와서 이제 끊어야겠어요.)

 

  2) 전화 번호 착오

   ⓐ I am afraid(sorry) I must have the wrong number.
     (죄송합니다만 제가 전화를 잘못 걸었군요.)
   ⓑ You must have dialed the wrong number. (전화를 잘못 거셨습니다.)
   ⓒ There is no one here by that name.

    (그런 이름을 가진 사람은 여기에 없습니다.)
   ⓓ You have the right number(You dialed correctly) but

      there is no one here by that name.
     (전화번호는 맞는 데 그런 사람은 없습니다.)

 

  3) 전화 끊음

   ⓐ I got disconnected. (cut off) (전화가 끊겼어.)
   ⓑ She hung up on me. ( 그녀가 일방적으로 전화를 끊었어.)
   ⓒ I got hung up on. (전화가 끊겼다.)

 

  4) 전화 고장

   ⓐ I'm afraid the phone is out of order. (전화가 고장난 것 같아.)
   ⓑ I can't seem to get the dial tone. (신호가 안 떨어지네.)
   ⓒ I think the phone's dead. ( 전화가 불통이다.)

   ( ...를 취급하는지 문의하려고 전화했습니다.)

How to reply when someone is not available

누군가가 통화할 수 없을 때 응답하기

 ○ I'm afraid Mr. Kim is not available at the moment.

   유감이지만(죄송하지만), 김씨는 지금 통화할 수가 없습니다.
 

○ The line is busy... (when the extension requested is being used)

   이 전화는 통화중입니다.(요구된 내선이 사용 중일 때)

 

○ Mr Jackson isn't in... Mr Jackson is out at the moment...

   잭슨씨가 자리에 안계십니다...잭슨씨는 잠시 자리를 비웠습니다...

 

○ I'm afraid Mr Martin isn't in at the moment.

 Taking a Message 메시지 받기
